    Emotional angsty roller coaster
    O. My. Gosh. This book is so good. I have never read a book quite like this one. It has so many emotions, it’s a book that draws you in and makes you feel it, without cheesy wording. Yes, the husband cheated. Life actually happens, and this book is about real world crap that actually happens to women all over the world. It’s about real betrayal. It’s about a marriage that appears to be so perfect but is lacking communication, a couple that loves each other but is obviously missing something in their marriage that they weren’t aware of.It has both points of view, which in this type of story line, I love. We get to see exactly what happens when a marriage breaks down, and how far someone has to go to work to pull themselves back together and heal themselves first, before they can even try to heal their marriage.June and Drew. Wow. I wanted to hate Drew, and I did for a good portion of the book. He’s an idiot, and he definitely deserved some misery. He’s known June his entire life. Her family is his family. He didn’t just cheat on his wife, he cheated himself out of his family. And he was selfish about it too. He honestly didn’t understand in the beginning why he was wrong. He was guilty at first, and would always think he wouldn’t do it again, but his convictions quickly faded when his urges hit. He was a pretty weak man. He loves June so much, but not enough to be himself to her. They loved each other for so long before they were even married or before they even became a couple, and they skipped a lot of really important steps that make a marriage great. Drew was a coward in my opinion, and didn’t express to June his past or his desires in the bedroom; and he also didn’t listen to June when she tried to ask for a change. June needed to learn to get mean and grow a backbone too. She was just happy to be loved by Drew, but June 2.0 loved herself too.I really hope we see a book in the future for Noah, as well as Reed and Leighton?! I also want to see more of Drew and June, to know what the future has in store for them! This book was fantastic. I know that for some, a book with cheating is a huge no go, but this book is tastefully written and works through the infidelity in a way that is human and real. It’s definitely worth the read! All the stars for this book, a definite re read for me!!

    Trigger Warning – Cheating Husband
I loved this novel. Yes there was cheating but that’s real world, real life experience and the fact that the author was brave enough to write about it, deserves recognition.June walks in on Drew with his lover which causes a breakdown in their marriage. These are lifelong friends who took the next step to marriage.I love that June didn’t yield to Drew despite how much she loved him, I found her emotions real, anger and sadness, coupled with love and forgiveness. She found her strength during a difficult period.Drew, who took accountability immediately still couldn’t see the true extent of his faults. I loved that he was willing to do the work, on himself, for his wife, for his marriage. It was very real, the thoughts, feelings, actions, the work they had to do to overcome. For those reviewers who were mad, should no author ever write about the everyday hardships we face? I don’t think June easily forgave Drew. I believe they both did the work necessary to work towards forgiveness. It’s a 4 star because I don’t feel Lorelai was appropriately dealt with. She should have been outed for the liar and manipulator she is. Drew should have taken a hard and definitive stance against her in front of his wife through a confrontation, to include the lies she told about Noah. It’s obvious she set out to catch him and he was too gullible to recognize that. Drew also needed to apologize not just to Noah but also June regarding his continued defense of her.Overall, great story

    Great griping second chance book
I hesitated to write this review especially after seeing the bad reviews. I loved the book.***spoilert alert****Cheating books are not for everyone and I get why some people dont like this book. We’re all entitled to our opinions. When I read reviews, I am sometimes shocked by how mean and sarcastic some reviews are. I could never be a writer because I don’t think I could survive some of the reviews. It’s a book about cheating and how this couple survives it. I’ve never read a cheating book wherein the reason for the cheating satisfied me. Even when the spouse being cheated on is awful, I am usually not satisfied with why the have to be cheated on when I read books or even watch shows. Cheating is bad, full stop. In my mind, if you’re not getting what you want, you work on the relationship or you leave. If cheating triggers you, I don’t think you’ll like this book. If you can separate your feelings about cheating from the story of Drew and June, you may actually like it. The author Alison Rhymes did a great job of capturing June’s turmoil after catching Drew in the act. I actually felt her anguish, pain, and self doubt because of how well her scenes and thoughts are written. June has known Drew her whole life and no matter how she tried, she couldn’t erase all those memories because of his infidelity. She was trying to reconcile the memories with the fact that maybe she didn’t know Drew the way she thought she did. She picked herself up, became her own person, and made him work hard to get her back. She didn’t just forgive him, she found her voice and herself, and decided to give him a chance because he was truly remorseful, he worked on himself to understand why he cheated in the first place, he felt her pain, and knew he would never again cheat on June.As for Drew, he cheated, he shouldn’t have but we wouldn’t have a book to review if he hadn’t 😉. Like I said before, to me there is never a good reason to cheat. He had his. He was immature, selfish, and addicted to how June saw him as her savior so God forbid he tell her he wanted some kinky sex. He rationalized because in his mind, June was his true love and he didn’t think she would ever find out. Since June didn’t know, no harm he was just releasing steam. Cheating is ugly and Drew’s was, he lied, he sought out women, and had condomn free sex with OW. He should not have, his rationalization was OW signed contract and was getting texted regularly. Once, his cheating came to light, he understood how awfull his actions were and he was not the kind of man June deserved. Heck, he had almost been sleep walking in his life and never had to ask himself “am I proud of who I am?” Being caught and seeing himself in June’s eyes brought that home. Also, Drew never had a good father figure growing up. Drew’s dad taught him women were to be used. Drew’s dad took money from Drew to go away basically making Drew believe that people are dispensable. Drew said many times, he would never forgive himself for what he did. He worked hard to get June back. Drew’s reasons for cheating only make sense to Drew.I will say, I could’ve done without the scene (Drew, Noah, and June) many have talked about. I don’t think it was necessary. I still love the book and couldn’t put it down the first time I read it. I ve read it multiple times since then. The writer is new and super talented for making you feel while you read the book.

Oh my goodness! What a read! The way this story starts out is just heart-wrenching. My heart broke reading through it. Then, repaired throughout it. The way this all went down was just gutting, really. But then how it ended was just honestly fulfilling. It’s good that Drew put in the effort he did. He needed to for himself. I loved the scene with Noah. Honestly, I’m so glad that happened. It was hot, hot, hot. I purely loved this story. It showed real, true, honest, raw love between a couple. I hope we do get to her more about them in the next two books. Highly recommend reading this if you love a good love story with all the feels in it.

Wow, this book left me speechless! I absolutely loved it! If I could give it more than five stars I would, but that is why I reserve my five star ratings for books exactly like this one that just knock me over. You could not pull me away from this book once I started it and I read it in just a few hours. I was absolutely captivated by this story.I couldn’t decide if I wanted to root for June and Drew to be together or for June to find someone else but all I know is I really wanted June to make Drew work for it and she absolutely did!In the end I am so happy these two were able to find their way back to each other but I was really glad that Alison Rhymes made June an incredibly strong character that ensured Drew worked for it. June respected herself and made sure she worked on figuring out what she wanted and who she was before letting Drew back into her life and I found myself being proud of her.On the flip side I was so excited to see how much work Drew was willing to put in to try and save his marriage. One of my favorite tropes is second chance with couples who are married and fall out of love or have marital issues and this book was done so well!I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I have no idea what it was other than a pathetic excuse to write bad BDSM.FMC is unbelievable in her naivety and MMC is unbelievable in general.
