Needed for home safety at good price
I keep a fire extinguisher on each floor. I try to check it monthly; I just look at the gage. I did have to replace an old one where the gage moved to red after many years. These meet the general standards and work for household fires from various fuel sources. I did mount one and was simple to do. Luckily, I’ve never had to use one in my home yet. I did use one a long time ago and works for need. They are worth every penny should something happen.

Our Kidde fire extinguisher SAVED OUR HOUSE
Long story short – we used our Kidde fire extinguisher a few days ago and it SAVED OUR HOUSE!Long story – in the winter time we BBQ a bit closer to the house, where it doesn’t get snow. Hey, a man still needs to BBQ in the winter time. For a few seasons we’ve never had an issue with this. But earlier this week I was mid-BBQ in our back yard when all of a sudden I turned around and saw a fire on our deck. I guess the wind must have carried something burning over to some backyard clutter that we had accumulated over the winter time. It was the scariest thing to turn around and suddenly see a fire on our wooden deck.Living in Salt Lake we disconnect our hoses in the winter time, so my immediate instinct was to run to our garage to grab our fire extinguisher. I’ll be honest, I had no idea what fire extinguisher we had or how old it was. Up till now I’ve never cared about using a fire extinguisher before. All I knew at the time was where we kept it. Luckily I was able to make it to our garage and back outside in time where I used our fire extinguisher and IT WAS AWESOME! Otherwise our house would have more than likely burnt down.It was then later that I learned that it was a Kidde fire extinguisher and it was as old as 2014; 10 YEARS OLD! The size of it is the same size as the ones I’m giving a 5 star review today. My photos show the fire extinguisher we used, along with the date showing how old it was. So naturally we bought several more of these… Except this time we’ll keep one by the BBQ…BE A HERO for your family and buy these Kidde fire extinguishers!PS – for funzies I’ll even share a recorded video of me in that exact moment frantically grabbing our Kidde fire extinguisher from our garage… enjoy…

Fire
When we first received these we could not get the plastic handles to hook together to mount these. I went through customer service and then was directed to contacted Kidde. We finally did get an answer from Kidde. They suggest putting the plastic handles in the sun to loosen them up (or use a hair dryer). We will try that, but are concerned they might be difficult to release in case of an emergency. They said the handles are necessary inside, but we don’t want them “dangling” from the wall. Time will tell. The item cannot be returned, so we will do what we have to do. (The extinguishers themselves are very nice.)

Good value
I am a foster parent in the state Requires that I have a fire extinguisher on every level of my home. I went to the hardware store to purchase fire extinguishers. And I was shocked at the price for even a small fire extinguisher, so when I started looking around on Amazon, I found these, it was great quality. They do not seem to be leaking. They came packaged well and sealed, and they are able to sit inconspicuously around my home without being noticed a whole lot

Nice two pack to have for the home.
It is nice having the safety and security of fire prevention in the home. The compact design helped for places where I could install the extinguishers without being an impedance to the “flow” of the house. Hopefully never have to use them, but in the event an incident occurs, having the means to suppress the fire is important.

A good value for the cost
These were purchased to replace a similar Kidde multipurpose fire extinguisher that was used on an oven fire and also to add an additional extinguisher next to the fireplace. You will be very happy to have one of these on hand if you have a small emergency. A sugary filling from baked goods had dripped onto the bottom of the oven and caught on fire, and the Kidde fire extinguisher was completely effective in putting out the fire. I’m glad to say we learned a lesson and I feel much safer now that we have at least one fire extinguisher on every floor of our house.
